A, Fully Automatic Battery Charger offers features to accommodatethe needs for home or light commercial use. This manual will explain how to use thecharger safely and effectively. Please read and follow these instructions and precautions carefully. This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for aClass B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits aredesigned to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequencyenergy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may causeharmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee thatinterference will not occur in a particular installation. Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna. Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver. Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which thereceiver is connected. Consult the dealer or an experienced radio technician for help. BATTERIES GENERATE EXPLOSIVE GASES DURING NORMAL BATTERYOPERATION. To reduce risk of battery explosion, follow these instructions and those published bybattery manufacturer and manufacturer of any equipment you intend to use in vicinityof battery. To reduce risk of electrical shock,unplug the charger from the outletbefore attempting any maintenance orcleaning. Handling the cord on thisproduct or cords associated withaccessories sold with this product, willexpose you to lead, a chemical knownto the State of California to causecancer and birth defects or otherreproductive harm. Always charge battery in a wellventilated area. Battery chargers get hotduring operation and must haveproper ventilation. Air needs to flowaround entire charger. Do not setcharger on flammable materials likecarpeting, upholstery, paper, cardboard, etc. Charger may damageleather, plastic and rubber. Read all instructions and cautionsprinted on the battery charger,battery, and vehicle or equipmentusing battery. Place charger as far away from thebattery being charged as the chargercables will permit. Never use charger for charging drycell batteries that are commonly usedwith home appliances like radios,stereos, remote controls, etc. Thesebatteries may burst and causepersonal injury. Do not expose charger to rain or snow. Take itto a qualified service professional ifservice or repair is required. Incorrectassembly may result in fire orelectrical shock. Never allow battery acid to drip oncharger when reading specific gravity orfilling battery. Never set a battery on top of charger. Never place charger directly abovebattery being charged. The gases fromthe battery will corrode and damage thecharger. Be sure to position the charger powercord to prevent it from being steppedon, tripped over, or damaged. Never pull out the plug by the cordwhen unplugging the charger. Pulling onthe cord may cause damage to the cordor the plug. Never touch the battery clamps togetherwhen the charger is on. Never operate charger if it has receiveda hard blow, been dropped, or otherwisedamaged. Take it to a qualified professional for inspection and repair. Do not operate the charger if it has adamaged power cord or plug. Wear complete eye and clothingprotection when working with leadacid batteries. Have plenty of fresh water andsoap nearby for use in case batteryacid contacts your eyes, skin, orclothing. If this happens, washimmediately with soap and water. Take care not to drop any metal toolor metal object onto the battery. Thismay result in a spark or short circuitacross the battery or another electrical device that may cause an explosion. Avoid touching your eyes whileworking with a battery. Ifthis occurs, flush eyes immediatelywith running cold water for at least 10minutes. Then immediately getmedical attention. Never smoke or allow a spark orflame in the vicinity of the battery orengine. Batteries generate explosivegases. Neutralize any acid spills thoroughlywith baking soda before attempting toclean up. PLUGGING IT INYour charger requires a 120V ACreceptacle installed according to all localcodes and ordinances. Make sure that pins on plug ofextension cord are the same number,size, and shape as those of plug oncharger. Check that the extension cord isproperly wired and in good electricalcondition. Make sure that the wire size is largeenough for its length and for the ACampere rating, as specified in thechart b filexlib.
